Charity filmfest ‘Radiant Angel’ awards Iran’s ‘Irreversible’

The International Charity Film Festival ‘Radiant Angel’ in Russia has awarded Iranian short animation ‘Irreversible’.

Directed by Sheyda Kashi, the film won the Best Animation award at the 18th edition of the Russian event.

‘Irreversible’, taking about two years to be produced, is an 8-minute 2D animation.

A brief synopsis for the flick reads, “A country has been invaded and occupied by the forces of another country. There only remains one survivor, who, has been trying hard to redefine the alienated meaning of their life”.

The film’s director told the media that her choice of subject for the film has roots in the great impact nostalgia has on people’s lives. She is after explaining the path different individuals will take after their homeland has been colonized and the deep-rooted meaning of their life has been lost.

‘Irreversible’ has already taken part in a number of global events, including the Iranian Film Festival San Francisco in the US, the San Sebastian International Film Festival in Spain and the Russian SFI Golden Knight International Film Festival, where it won the second top prize.

The International Charity Film Festival ‘Radiant Angel’ is held annually to present spiritual and moral culture of the younger generation of Russia.

This year’s edition of the fest was held in November in Moscow.
